A Different Approach to Treating Depression

When patients come to me for depression, many expect a standard approach—typically starting with an SSRI.
While SSRIs can be helpful, I don’t believe depression should be treated the same way for everyone. Each patient has a unique story, chemistry, and set of challenges, so my approach is always individualized.
Many of my patients aren’t just feeling sad—they feel stuck. They struggle with motivation, energy, and even getting out of bed. In these cases, simply improving mood isn’t enough.
That’s where Wellbutrin XL (bupropion) can make a meaningful difference.
In the right patient, it can help restore motivation, increase energy, and bring a sense of engagement back into daily life. I’ve seen patients go from barely functioning to actively participating in their routines again.
For others, a thoughtful balance of an SSRI with Wellbutrin provides the best results—addressing both emotional and physical symptoms of depression.
There is no one-size-fits-all solution. My focus is always on finding what works best for each individual and helping them feel like themselves again.
In my experience, this personalized approach leads to consistently strong outcomes and meaningful stabilization of depression symptoms.
